It seems that Smith-Corona got it right, right away, with their electrification of their famous portable. Then they continued making this machine for over 20 years, in a profusion of model names and minor changes, along with a couple of big ones: a power return and a cartridge ribbon system. They are all fine typewriters. Enjoy!
Exceptional find. Electric typewriters are certainly worth collecting, especially smart ones like that Smith-Corona. The ad doesn't do it justice.
