Regarding your note on the cost of the machine, adjusted for inflation, I observe that while expensive, the cost over a span of years, the machine's usefulness, is quite reasonable. My father bought a Royal Futura 400, which he used throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and even into the 1980s. The longest I've used a computer is around six years (my MacBook Air). Nonetheless, $560 is a lot of money.
I agree, it was a reasonable price back then. About what I paid to send my daughter to college with a laptop!
