A lucky Craigslist alert brought me this mint condition late 50's, early 60's SG1 (machine on the left). Now I have Papa Bear and Mother Bear. All I need is a Splendid to have an Olympia family! In other news, I am going tonight to pick up a local machine I found on eBay this week. Guess what it will be:
- Portable
- Diagonal stripes
- It is not black
SG1's are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteI am stumped by your portable riddle. The only typewriters I can think of right now with diagonal stripes are the (black) Smith-Corona streamlined '40s models.
I stumped Richard Polt, wow! I do think the riddle is kind of tough. I will say that it is a pre-war portable and I think the color is uncommon. I can't wait to post pictures because I am very pleased with how this machine looks and types.
